Shay and Gray Fundraising Concert Featuring Elton Rohn

A CONCERT STARRING ELTON ROHN IN SUPPORT OF SHAYLYN AND GRAYSON

THURSDAY AUGUST 13, 2015  8:00PM

Presented by: Blackrose Durham Entertainment

Meet Shay and Gray who were born earlier this year. They were so excited to join the world they were born six weeks premature in January. Unfortunately their organs were not fully developed and now have a medical condition known as necrotizing enterocolitis, or NEC, where they are unable to drink regular baby formula or breast milk. They require a special prescribed baby formula which is not covered by insurance. The parents of twins are going through the normal financial nightmare of having newborns and now the additional cost of this special formula. The current cost of formula is $79/day. The cost will double as the twins grow in the next few months.

The Elton Rohn Band will be performing to help raise funds to offset the cost for this couple.

Ron Camilleri, also known as Elton Rohn, is a twin himself. You will be amazed and entertained at the uncanny resemblance and sound of Elton Rohn. ( www.eltonrohn.com )

Shaylyn and Grayson's Story and they're need for Neocate:

Let's help Shaylyn and Grayson grow to be the recipients of some of the nicest people in Durham Region and do what the insurance companies should be doing!

The Captain's wife is dead, and he is often away, and runs the household as strictly as he does the ships he sails on. The children are unhappy and resentful of the governesses that their father keeps hiring, and have managed to run each of them off one by one. When Maria arrives, she is initially met with the same hostility, but her kindness, understanding, and sense of fun soon draws them to her and brings some much-needed joy into all their lives -- including the Captain's.

Neil Diamond Tribute

Neil Diamond Tribute - Performed by Mark Thomas and the Gem Tones

PERFORMED BY MARK THOMAS AND THE GEM TONES

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2015   8PM

Presented by: Blackrose Durham Entertainment

Being a Tribute Artist is one of the most challenging professions as it requires a number of disciplines and commitments. Not only is a 'good look' essential, but a quality voice is paramount, especially when you've chosen to emulate Neil Diamond. Equipped with unwavering determination and a strong baritone voice (from his Welsh ancestry), Mark Thomas left a career in corporate finance to pursue his life-long dream. Mark has spent the last five years cultivating Neil's persona and honing his vocal skills to recreate the image and sound of not only his idol but one of the world's most recognized music icons. He showcases his ability to re-create the sound and showmanship that has made Neil a true icon admired by the young and old worldwide.  Mark has all the favorites, and then some, in his repertoire spanning Neil’s 40+ years of entertaining.  He gives a high energy interactive show each and every time he performs.  One of Mark’s entertainment objectives is to whisk the audience away, by performing that one song that brings back a fond memory. Having attained international status through countless performances in both Canada and the U.S. (and now most recently the United Kingdom), Mark's tribute act to this Legendary Star has become a 'must see' for all Neil Diamond fans.

Freddy Vette and the Flames

Freddy Vette and the Flames : Where Rock and Roll Lives

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2015    8:00PM

Presented By: LIVEact

“KEEPING ROCK & ROLL ALIVE ONE HIT AT A TIME”

Fifties and Sixties Rock and Roll, that is. That has been my life’s work since 1999. Through being a musician, and since 2009, a radio broadcaster too. I’m not keeping it alive single-handedly, of course. I’m just doing what I can do with my group of musicians and my radio program to keep the music alive on radio and on stage in whatever capacity I can.

Why? I love this music. I discovered it like millions of others have. Records, radio and TV. I was born in 1972. The resurgence of ’50s rock in the ’70’s with American Graffiti, Sha-na-na, Happy Days and my folks record collection hit me right between the eyes when I was a kid and I’ve been going back in time ever since.

Without a doubt the best rock n roll band in North America today ! D.T

Mike Mandel - Worlds Greatest Living Hypnotist

Mike Mandel - Featuring Comedian David Merry

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2015   8:00PM

Presented by: Blackrose Durham Entertainment

Mike Mandel's Hypnosis show is best described as "Comedy Meets High-Velocity Trance". Using nothing more than the power of suggestion and his rapier wit, Mike guides his volunteers through increasingly ludicrous mental excursions, each displaying a brilliant sense of imagination and creativity. They may fish for sharks, shovel snow from the stage, or discover that their clothing is inside-out, incredibly all while they are wide awake! Typically working with up to thirty volunteers from the audience, Mike Mandel is able to cause otherwise rational people to see, do, and believe, totally ridiculous things! Mike consistently provides an energetic, fascinating and hilarious demonstration of the incredible faculties of the human mind.

"Mike was fantastic - he has just gotten better, if that is possible. I have received many e-mails and phone calls from people who attended the show, and nothing but fantastic reviews!" - Barrie Construction Association

"Mandel is an intellectual and emotional arsonist, both igniting the spirit and enlightening the soul." - Algoma University

Featuring David Merry - Canada's Premiere Comic Magician
M.C. this evening by the one and only Glenn Ottaway

We are proud to announce that the Fundraiser recipient of choice for the Mike Mandel show on Saturday Sept 19th is - Story Book Farm PRIMATE SANTUARY - a portion of every ticket sold will be donated to help in the Relocation program.

High Valley

FRIDAY OCTOBER 2, 2015 AT 8:00PM

Presented By: LIVEact

Originating from a remote farming community in Alberta, this Canadian country music duo is made up of brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel. High Valley has certainly garnered attention in Nashville’s music industry, having opened shows for Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, LeAnn Rimes and Reba McEntire, while earning a solid reputation as a must-see live act.

High Valley's first album, Broken Borders, was named Album of the Year at the 2007 GMA Canada Covenant Awards in the country category while their hit "Back to You" was honored as Country Song of the Year. In 2011, the band won five GMA Canada Covenant Awards, including Artist of the Year and Group of the Year.  Since then, they have released their third album in 2012, Love Is a Long Road, after their 2010 self-titled album.

It’s the one-two punch of powerful songs and potent performances that makes High Valley one of the most impressive new acts on today's competitive country scene. With a fresh, engaging sound that combines the best of contemporary country with compelling faith-based lyrics, High Valley is truly the best of both musical worlds.

UPDATE:  High Valley just released their brand new album, County Line.  Check it out at www.youtube.com/user/highvalleymusic

The Led Zeppelin Show

Ultimate Artists Live - The Led Zeppelin Show

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2015   8:00PM

Presented by: ULTIMATE ARTISTS LIVE

Ultimate Artists Live - Recreating the Experience - The Look, The Sound and the Magic!

Re-live the Experience with our hand-picked professional musicians.

Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition as one of the progenitors of heavy metal, though their unique style drew from a wide variety of influences, including folk music.

Although the group was initially unpopular with critics, they achieved significant commercial success with albums such as Led Zeppelin (1969), Led Zeppelin II (1969), Led Zeppelin III (1970), their untitled fourth album (1971), Houses of the Holy (1973), and Physical Graffiti (1975). Their fourth album, which features the track "Stairway to Heaven", is among the most popular and influential works in rock music, and it helped to secure the group's popularity.

They are one of the best-selling music artists in the history of audio recording; various sources estimate the group's record sales at close to 300 million units worldwide.

The musicians, who are featured in this show provide the closest tribute to Led Zeppelin with their attention to detail

The Alice Cooper Tribute Show

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2015   8:00PM

Ultimate Artists Live Presents:
A Tribute To Alice Cooper Live In Concert

Re-live the Experience with our featured artist 'The Eyes Of Alice'

Alice Cooper has been described as the artist who "first introduced horror imagery to rock 'n' roll, and whose stagecraft and showmanship have permanently transformed the genre".

Imagine Festival Presents: Spirit of the West

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2015   8:00PM

Presented by: Ontario Shores

Nearing the three-and-a-half decade mark, Spirit of the West continues to rock audiences with their original and potent blend of Folk, Celtic, Rock, Pop and Punk.  The band that began in 1983 as an innocent trio of acoustic guitar, flutes and bouzouki is now a musical and performance powerhouse that features 6 musicians and dozens of instrument changes in a night's worth of timeless and beloved songs.

With 13 albums to their credit, five of them gold and three platinum, a history of extensive touring throughout the western world, and the authorship of a drinking song ("Home For a Rest"), so well known and loved that it is often called 'Canada's unofficial national anthem', Spirit of the West's legacy has grown to legendary status.

Fan favourites such as 'And if Venice is Sinking', 'Save This House', 'Puttin' Up with the Joneses' and the quintessential drinking song 'The Crawl' have etched themselves into the soundtrack of youth of several generations of Canadians.

In recognition of Spirit's long career they have been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Western Canadian Music Association, have received the National Achievement Award from the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada, and were, in 2014, presented with a star in Vancouver's 'Starwalk', located on Theatre Row on Granville Street.

The band consists of John Mann (vocals); Geoffrey Kelly (vocals, guitar, flutes, whistles, bodhran); Hugh McMillan(vocals, basses, nearly all other stringed things on Earth); Tobin 'The Gull' Frank (basses, accordion, keyboards); Matthew Harder (vocals, guitars) & Vince Ditrich (vocals, drumkit, percussion, management, refreshment coordination).  Spirit enjoys a brilliant technical crew that is well worthy of mention:  Chris Hibbins (FOH Mix/Tour Management) & Andre Arsenault (Stage Management/Guitar Tech).

The Imagine Festival, hosted by Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, hosts an annual concert featuring musicians and groups that have a personal connection with mental health.

Brass Transit - The Musical Legacy of Chicago

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 14, 2015 AT 8:00PM

Presented By: LIVEact

Question: What happens when eight of Canada's most in-demand musicians and singers gather together out of a common love for the greatest jazz-rock group of all time?

Answer: You get BRASS TRANSIT - Toronto's dynamic, crowd-pleasing, studio-tight, Chicago tribute!

The band's show includes all the hits from Chicago's golden age. With a world-class horn section, a rocking rhythm section and vocals stacked sky-high, Brass Transit transports its audience back to the freewheeling days of the seventies. The band includes veterans of the Hall-of-Fame rock and soul acts like the Drifters, Sam and Dave, Aretha Franklin, Ben E. King, the Marvelettes, Frankie Valli, Mary Wilson, Martha Reeves, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Del Shannon and the Mamas and the Papas.

Brass Transit is without a doubt the #1 Tribute band to Chicago in the World

"What happens when a cover band is actually better than the band that they’re imitating? That is most certainly the case with Brass Transit, a Chicago tribute band that joined the Dayton Philharmonic to kick off the 5th season of their Rockin’ Orchestra series at the Schuster Center in Dayton, OH. And imitate is not the right word, Brass Transit embodied the music of Chicago".

The Irish Rovers 50th Anniversary Tour

The Irish Rovers celebrate 50 Years of Music with a tour and CD Release of “The Irish Rovers, 50 Years” triple CD set which will be available at concerts.

The band was founded in Canada in Toronto but first became known on American television in the 60s. As guests on The Tonight Show, The Smothers Brothers Show, Mike Douglas Show, The Virginian, The Dating Game (George Millar actually won the date), they gained experience before hosting their first of three television series “The Irish Rovers Show” in the 70’s. At that time, fans enjoyed their early hits like Black Velvet Band, The Unicorn, Whisky on a Sunday and Wasn't That A Party. These days, they’re back on the radio, releasing television specials, and they’ve gone viral with Drunken Sailor!

With a career spanning 50 years they’re not retiring, but are slowing down the touring – ironically at a time when they’re getting some of the best reviews of their career:

“No getting away from the quality of the Miller cousin’s vocals, vintage Irish balladeers from Ballymena with calculated wit and whimsy and a brogue to win the ladies hearts-and more grey hair than you could shake a shillelagh at." Otago Daily Times, New Zealand

“All the years of touring and playing haven’t eroded the band’s ferocious chops. Those musicians are so tight. They’re virtuosos!” Tallahassee Democrat

“An unforgettable experience! The Irish Rovers excite even the most discerning audience member into having a rip-roaring good time!" Foundation for the Performing Arts

At the concert, fans will enjoy a mix of their hits, rollicking Jigs and Reels, plus hilarious stories from their years on the road.
