The documentary "Stolen Time" by filmmaker Helene Klodawsky features Melissa Miller, a prominent lawyer and advocate for justice in long-term care (LTC) homes. Melissa Miller is known for representing families of LTC residents who suffered neglect and abuse, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the film, Miller’s insights and legal expertise help to expose the failures of the for-profit LTC system in Canada and highlight the devastating effects these failures had on vulnerable residents.
The film screening will be followed by a special conversation between Ontario Tech Professor and LTC expert and advocate, Dr. Vivian Stamatopoulos, and Melissa Miller.

Helene Klodawsky’s feature-length documentary Stolen Time, is co-produced by Intuitive Pictures and the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), and follows elder rights lawyer Melissa Miller as she takes on the corporate for-profit nursing home industry in Canada.
