MAKING A MINI FOREST

MAKING A MINI FOREST
SUNDAY, MARCH 23, 2025  2:00PM

Presented by Little Forests Durham in Association with Durham Master Gardeners and Green Communities Canada

MAKING A MINI-FOREST is a documentary film based on the book "Mini-Forest Revolution" by Hannah Lewis and covers the international movement to plant mini-forests to support local biodiversity and counter climate change.

Little Forests Durham, the Durham Master Gardeners and Green Communities Canada are pleased to present an exclusive Canadian screening of MAKING A MINI-FOREST by Angelina Lee and narrated by Hannah Lewis, author of Mini-Forest Revolution.

MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Focusing on people planting mini-forests in European cities using the Miyawaki Method, a tree-planting technique that focuses on regionally native tree species. It uses no chemical fertilizers or additives, on a relatively small area of land, and requires no maintenance after a few years. Narrated by Hannah Lewis, author of "Mini-Forest Revolution", these stories form a bigger picture of planting mini-forests to counter climate change and restore biodiversity.
