LOVE IN THE TIME OF FENTANYL

Feature Documentary | MA | 80 min, 2022

A group of misfits, artists, and drug users operates a renegade safe injection site in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Love in the Time of Fentanyl is an intimate portrait of a community fighting to save lives and keep hope alive in a neighborhood ravaged by the overdose crisis. Love in the Time of Fentanyl had its World Premiere at the 21st DOXA Documentary Film Festival, where it was featured as the Justice Forum Special Presentation and took home the Colin Low Award for Best Canadian Director!

After the film, attendees will learn how to administer naloxone, a medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. After the naloxone demonstration there will be a panel discussion and Q&A to gain valuable insights from film participants and those who have first-hand experience with this crisis. This event is an important step in building awareness and promoting action towards ending the opioid epidemic.

Tickets for this event are free, but donations can be made at the time of purchase and are strongly encouraged. All proceeds will go towards supporting Back Door Mission and their efforts to provide assistance to those in need. Join us for an informative and inspiring evening and help make a positive difference in our community.
